The Girls Go Surfing Day program originated in Australia and has largely grown since. In Indonesia the program is now in its 8th year of operation and is a huge event on the surfing calendar. It actively encourages female beginners and non-surfers to take part in customized ‘learn to surf’ lessons that gets girls out in the water experiencing the rush that only surfing provides.

Rip Curl will give girls from all these regions a chance to win a special grand prize to win the ultimate trip with their best friend to the Girls Go Surfing Day in Phuket for 3 days 2 nights during the event.

By spending only IDR 1 million, RM 350, SGD 100 or THB 3000 in a Rip Curl Flagship store the girls will be in the race for the ultimate girls weekend at Kata beach in Phuket, Thailand.

All the girls are invited to the event and only with $10 USD They will get free entry to the beach, free lesson at the Rip Curl School of Surf, Fun Games and workshops, Goodies Bags, Sponsor products, Beauty Booth, BBQ and they can join the closing party at the beach.

The Rip Curl GromSearch series started in Australia in 1999, giving surfers aged 16 and under the opportunity to showcase their talents in a fun, friendly but competitive environment.

Already underway in Indonesia for 11 consecutive years, the event has found some incredible talents from all over the country including Oney Anwar, Putra Hermawan, Jeren Kiring and many more..

Rip Curl is always on the Search for the youngest and freshest talents from around the world, recruiting the next generation of surfers from the remotest regions of the planet. This special Grommet event running throughout Indonesia’s island archipelago is one way we can scout the next generation of upcoming surfers.

Every year, Rip Curl provides the under 16 division winners from the regions an all-expenses-paid trip to compete in the National Grand Finals held during the Rip Curl Surf N Music festival at Kuta Beach Bali.

The overall winner of the GromSearch National Finals will win a dream prize of being flown to Australia where they will compete against champions from all over the world in the International GromSearch Finals to be held during the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach, Australia 2012.

This event is also part of the Indonesian Surfing Championship (ISC) and provides an opportunity for “Grommets” to win valuable ISC points which will go toward deciding the end of year ISC junior Champion.
